Job Description

All Saints Church run a Warm Hub - Cosy Community Café and a low-cost Cosy Community Lunch. Each space will be warm - both in the environment and the welcome people receive.  The Café is modelled on the Warm Spaces Initiative guidance.

The cosy community café will provide;

  • Free Hot Drinks

  • Free Snacks

  • Crafts

  • Board Games

  • Mobile Phone Changing

  • Wifi

  • Toys

Accountability - The post reports to the Team Vicar

Employed By – The Parochial Church Council of Bedworth Parish

Appointment Title - Project Co-ordinator – Warm Hubs

Ethos - The ethos of this role is to work relationally in our local communities and with teams of volunteers based upon hospitality, welcome, care and if appropriate sensitively introduce people to other events and activities happening in the church and local community.

 

Key Responsibilites

  • To co-ordinate the planning and organisation of the Cosy Community Café (warm hub) and support this at the Cosy Community Lunch, including the safer recruitment of volunteers as required.

  • To lead prayer with the volunteers before the start of a session and/or at the end of a session.

  • To be available for informal relational working with those struggling with loneliness in Bedworth.

  • To encourage and support initiatives and projects that seek to reduce loneliness in and around Bedworth.

  • To participate in the Bedworth Parish Staff Team once a month.

  • To participate in Staff Prayer once a week.

  • To participate in a monthly support meeting.

  • To apply to funding bodies for grants as required to ensure the longevity of the project.

  • To ensure that all work and ministry complies with Bedworth Parishes Safeguarding Policy.

  • To work collaboratively with the Clergy, Readers and Leadership Team.

 

Place of work and duration

  • Your normal place of work is All Saints Church

  • Your place of work may comprise different locations which are agreed by mutual consultation.

  • We have funding for this role until the 30th June 2026. The role may be extended a further 10 months from September 2026 dependent on funding.

 

Experience

You will need to be highly motivated and able to demonstrate a track record of delivering community-based projects and initiatives. You will enjoy taking initiative in working with people, enjoy working as part of a team and be confident in directing volunteers. You will be able to relate to seniors easily, and have a sound understanding of the challenges and issues they face. In addition to excellent relational skills, good project management and communication skills are also important to this role, and you will need to be familiar with relevant processes and protocols in safeguarding and budgeting.

 

Training and Development

As a parish we are committed to the appropriate development of every team member. Funding will be provided for appropriate annual training and development.

 

Requirements

This post is subject to a DBS check. The post holder will have a vibrant and active Christian faith and ability to engage with people in faith issues.  It is therefore an Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9 part 1 of the Equality Act 2010) of this post to have a committed Christian faith and be actively involved in worshiping in a church community.

 

Summary of the main terms and conditions of employment 

Commencement - As soon as practicably possible

Length – The employment contract will run until 30th June 2026

Hours - The appointment is a part-time role of 7-10 hours per week, in a working pattern to be agreed with the Team Vicar. Due to the nature of the role weekly hours may vary but the core hours are on Friday and Thursday if want to work 10 hours.

Pay - A salary of £12.60 per hour. Agreed and receipted working expenses will also be reimbursed.

Pension - The role does not qualify for a pension

Holidays - A holiday entitlement of 30 days pro rata plus public holidays which fall on days normally worked.

Contract - A detailed contract of employment will be prepared embracing these key items and other matters such as termination, sickness, disciplinary and other details.
