Adventuring through Advent - Week 2 - The Prophets (a funny old bunch but pretty special too!)

13/12/2020

Well, I wonder if you know what a prophet is? There are many of them talked about in the Bible - 16 have books in the Bible - perhaps you can have a little look together at home and see if you can spot some - there are some cool names!

Simon talks to us this week and helps us to understand what they've got to do with advent and thinking about Jesus coming.
Enjoy!

Wowsers!
It's here! The first week of advent!
WE are diving into a joint-venture series this week (with our friends in Exhall and Bulkington) as we begin to explore God's Promise of jesus coming at christmas. We start by looking at the way abraham and sarah had to wait a looooong time to see god's promise to them in action. I wonder how you find waiting for things?
perhaps you could create your own family advent wreath this week as we begin to think about preparing for jesus' arrival?
(There's a file with some ideas on the left)

Have fun!

Can you be a Carrier of hope this christmas?
We are called by god to love our neighbours and to be light in the darkness. we are inviting you to join us and support the shoebox and christmas in a bag projects that carriers of hope, coventry are running this christmas. they work with refugee, asylum seeker and migrant families in coventry and surrounding areas.
The video this week explains a little more and there's a reminder of one of my favourite parables about loving our neighbours too.
Have a great week! :)

(If you'd like the email with more information about how to support carriers of hope, please comment on here or email nicola@bedworthparish.org)

Worship at home - Sunday 25th October - happy half term!

We've made it to half term! Hooray!
The session this week is over to you, as we think about the time of halloween coming up and the difference we might make to those around us. Have you popped a pumpkin in your shopping trolley yet? or perhaps you've been lucky enough to go to a pumpkin patch and choose one from the field?
As followers of jesus, the light of the world, we have a super opportunity to use our pumpkin carving skills to show the love of jesus to those around us. So why not get creative this halloween and celebrate the light that jesus wants to shine in our lives by carving a positive image or message into your pumpkin to display over half term.
If you'd like to share your creations, do share them on Facebook and tag us or you could send them to us and we will share them on 31st October for all to see!
Have a relaxed week together this week and stay safe!

the final in our 'i am' series is here!

Seven action-packed weeks of exploring who jesus said he was....I wonder which of jesus' statements have caught your attention so far?
We believe that jesus wants us to know and experience his presence in our lives and to live full, vibrant and abundant lives with him at the steering wheel.

If jesus was sat with you today, i wonder what questions you'd have for him? If you'd like to share these with us to explore some more together, then do email nicola on nicola@bedworthparish.org or pop a message in the comments below.

Have a blessed week ahead!

Jesus said 'I am the vine...' (John 15v1) - and we are to be the branches.

I wonder how connected you've felt to jesus this week? Have you shown his love to others, showing that you're connected with him? Or has it been a tricky week and you feel like you need to reconnect?

The saying this week helps us to really think through what Jesus meant in this saying.

Have a blessed time watching and talking together.

Hello, lovely worship at homers!

We do hope you're well!

We're speeding along with the i am sayings now and today we're on our 5th saying from jesus of 'I am the bread of life'. What do you think this could mean? Perhaps you already have some ideas - share them together as you begin todays session.
Remember to read the notes and have a go at the activities if you have time. I wonder who can build the most colourful sandwiches this week?

Have a great time!
